RadTech's Expo and Conference to Address FDA's Ruling on UV/EB Food Contact

The Food and Drug Administration approved the Food Contact Notification (FCN772) which allows the use of UV or EB cured formulations as coatings or components of coatings (both including inks) on polymeric substrates, paper and paperboard, metal substrates, or as a component in adhesives.
The FDA's decision also marks the first time a regulation institution has defined measurable threshold values under which the use of UV technology for food packaging is allowed.
The FDA's ruling is a significant development that should offer unique opportunities for the UV/EB industry. RadTech's UV&EB Technology Expo & Conference, May 5-7, 2008 in Chicago, will include an educational session on the use of UV and EB curable inks, coatings and adhesives in the food packaging industry?and will accurately and completely explain the recent FDA clearances.
In addition, the RadTech Conference will spotlight the role of UV/EB in sustainable packaging, addressing the "why" and "how" converters and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies from around the world are rapidly transitioning to UV and EB technology. This session is directed at the value proposition for both the print-buyer and print seller for flexible packaging, paperboard packaging, tag and label, etc.
